Children and Youth
Programs
The Children’s
and Youth Christian Education program at St. Patrick’s
seeks to help your child better understand and know the Word of God,
as well as the principles and values of what it means to be a
Christian, and to share and proclaim Christ’s love to the world.
On Sundays from September through June, 10:30 - 11:15, Sunday
School is offered for children through fifth grade.
We use a lectionary-based Sunday School program called “Living the
Good News.” The children learn and discuss biblical stories,
play games, and create art projects that reflect the lessons
appointed for each Sunday. Child care is provided in
the Nursery for infants
and toddlers so they can play, color, and learn songs and prayers
every Sunday from 9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. In the
sanctuary, lectionary-based word searches, coloring pages, and
puzzles are available at the back. Your child is welcome to use
these materials during the service. Please make sure the
materials are returned before coffee hour. Our Youth
Group meets on an ad-hoc basis, usually on a Saturday
or Sunday after church. Some activities include monthly
services at Sunrise Assisted Living, outings to D.C., Shrine Mont
retreats, mission projects, sharing meals, and hanging out.
Please
feel free to ask any questions you might have about our programs.
We value your input!
Adult Programs
Our Adult Christian
Education has included a Sunday morning bible study led by the vicar
and a Wednesday night Bible Study led by Jane Auld.
Adult Bible Study
(Vietnamese)
The Rev Tinh T.
Huynh leads the lectionary reading during the Vietnamese Bible Study,
which is held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. on Sundays. On the
first Sunday of each month, English speaking members of the church join
the group for a bilingual discussion session on the lessons of the day.
Adult Bible Study
(English)
The Wednesday
evening Bible Study is held at St. Patrick's each week.
Everyone is welcome and invited to participate. Jane Paterson Auld
taught series designed to fit the needs of traveling members. It
allowed parishioners to drop in any week.
Adult Inquirers' Class
Each year at St.
Patrick's we offer an Inquirers' Class for those who are new to the
parish and for those who have been here for a while but want to dig a
little deeper into who we are as a parish and as Christians. The focus
is on learning about the church's story, locally, globally, and
throughout time, and looking at how our own individual stories connect
with these larger stories.
