What to Expect
Entering the Church: On Sundays for worship you should follow the brick walkway through the Red Doors and into the Narthex.
The Sanctuary is through the double doors ahead on the left. The double doors to the right in the Narthex lead to the restrooms, lounge, chapel, nursery and church offices. View diagram of the church... |

Services: A service at St. Pat’s is easy to follow with your bulletin and the Book of Common Prayer in hand, the red book found in the pew. Our ushers will hand you a bulletin as you enter the service. Find a seat anywhere you’d like. As we wait for the service to begin, we prepare our hearts and minds for worship. Some people like to kneel and pray, others to sit quietly. Our Services are primarily in English but we also use a bi-lingual prayer book showing the Vietnamese translation of the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer.
All who wish to draw closer to the Lord are welcome to take Communion. Gluten-free wafers are available for the communion service upon request. If you are unable to stand to receive Communion, the priests will come to your pew to administer Communion there. We have an area of pews that provide for a space to accommodate wheelchairs or walkers. Just ask an usher before the service.
We welcome all ages to attend the worship services. However, infant care is available in the nursery with screened nursery care workers.
Music: Your first introduction to our music ministry will likely be the melodies that you hear from our historical organ. The organ accompanies the singing of hymns. We enjoy wonderful music at St. Pat’s and see this as an integral part of our worship. Do not be surprised to hear amazing guest singers and musicians contributing to our services; such as a group of 3 cellos, a professional soprano, an up and coming young flutist, a professional marimibst, etc.
Dress: There is no dress code at St. Pat’s. Many St. Pat’s parishioners dress casually in dress pants and no jacket; some wear blue jeans. Come as you are most comfortable.
Feel: St. Pat’s has the feel of a traditional Episcopal church, but is replete with members who have come from other religious traditions and who are as warmly welcomed as cradle Episcopalians. We’ve been described as “tradition done well” as a place that cherishes the longstanding Episcopal traditions without being stuffy.
Coffee and doughnuts are available after most services.
We welcome those who wish to become involved in the life of the parish and, through it, the spiritual life of the community and the region to find out more.
